London GridLocked by Strike - Please Expect Delays

Millions of exasperated Londoners battled with travel chaos on Wednesday, as the British capital's underground system ground to a halt at the start of a two-day Tube strike.

Commuters took to bikes, buses and boats on the Thames to beat the underground gridlock, while the streets were packed with people walking miles to work.

There is massive Congestion in London at the moment and we may experience delays with some London Deliveries.

Important Notice with Regards to movement of shipments out of South Africa

Over the past few months there have been a few shipments that have slipped through us that have been seized by UK Customs as they obviously contained contraband of some description.

The common factor in all of these shipments is that they have been sent by “cash” customers.

When checking back on the addresses of the senders, they have, not surprisingly, turned out to be non-existent.

HIGH VALUE SHIPMENTS TO EU REGION

Customs at London, which is also a gateway for the European Union countries have started to enforce the regulations in regard to transit freight landing in London and being forwarded to EU countries. Our Brokers have to ensure full customs clearance in London before leaving for destination country.

In the past shipments just passed through customs on a tranship basis, and no clearance was required until it arrived in destination country.

This in turn has additional costs involved for brokers to clear.
